Corn Ride
by Helen Losse
Two young cousins played with dolls
in the back seat of a family sedan.
No need to watch traffic, when you’re
ten. So we didn’t.
Suddenly, tall rows of Kansas corn
went husking past the side windows.
Ear then silk went flying by
like a chorus line, kicking on Broadway.
