How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb

by Scott Hughes

ivory burned.
gates sank home,
shrouded by curls
of silt and loam.
You turned to me and said, “It’s through.”
“Nah,” I said. “It ain’t nothin’ new.”
