Chimney Parts the Grass

by Ken Victor

Woodsmoke drifts across
the frozen pond–silent snake
slithering through air.

Ken Victor has been trying to write poems for 35 years because he is under the influence of A Gift of Watermelon Pickle, the book of poems he read in Mr. Gibson’s 7th grade English class and which, unfortunately, entered his bloodstream like a narcotic and left him permanently addicted, awaiting the opening of the first Poetadone clinic. He’s been published in numerous journals in the U.S. and Canada, and makes his home in Quebec.
